-Prayer for Caterpillar’s M, who is still dealing with food poisoning affects since Saturday
-I asked for prayers for my M, but also myself. Just dealing with a lot right now…kids, busy schedule, work, etc. Just feeling overwhelmed. …which leads me to a moleskin…
Hardcode had some great advice and reminded us of the story of Mary & Martha with Jesus. In the busyness of life, we need to remember to rest. As leaders of our family, we should be an example of good health, a good work ethic, but along with that goes rest. We need rest, and should exemplify healthy rest. I definitely need this reminder.
I appreciate you guys. Sometimes it’s easy to forget how we’re all in the same boat…dealing with/leading our 2.0’s, complexity of schedules and life, etc.…we’re all in a storm in some shape or form. During the prayer, I was reminded of the story of Jesus on the boat with his disciples during the storm. Jesus was asleep, because he was exhausted mentally, physically, and spiritually, and needed rest, even though there was a storm going on. Whatever our storm, he may not pull us out of it when we want to be pulled out of it, and we may even think he’s not intervening, or we may feel like he’s asleep at the wheel. But we can take heart in the fact that he promised he’ll never leave or forsake us. James 1:2-3 says “consider it pure joy whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.”
I need to add that if we’re facing these trials, it means we’re living outside of ourselves, and not placing ourselves at the center of our universe. We’re living for something bigger than ourselves. Which is the 3rd of F3!
Honored to know you guys and lead you this morning. You guys crushed it. I kept the pace pretty strong to fit everything in!
