The Thang

PAX were split into a team of three responsible PAX and a team of two trouble makers…

Team 1 started off near the parking lot for a parking space ladder / standby exercise. But the standby excercise was on cards only given to Team 1 and not revealed to Team 2.

Team 2 was given cards for a fixed excercise or sets of exercises to be done in the pavilion, after which they would return to the parking lot and trade places with Team 1.

Teams were instructed to pass along to the other team the standby excercise for the parking lot OR the fixed reps to be done in the pavilion.

So for Round 1, Team 1 ran to the 1st parking spot line and did 1 x merkin, then ran back and started the standby exercise, LBCs.

Meanwhile Team 2 moseyed to the pavilion for 40 x dips, then moseyed back.

Teams exchanged info then switched with Team 2 running to line 2 for 2 x merkins, then running back for LBCs until Team 1 returned from their 40 x dips at the pavilion.

End Round 1.

Round 2

Team 1 to 3rd line for 3 x merkins, then WW2s

Team 2 to pavilion for 20 x derkins and 20 x step ups

Team 2 to 4th line for 4 x merkins, then WW2s

Team 1 to pavilion for 20 x derkins and 20 x step ups

Round 3

Team 1 to 5th line for 5 x merkins, then calf raises

Team 2 to pavilion for 10 x leg raises (on right side), 10 x dips, 10 x derkins, 10 x leg raises (on left side)

Team 2 to 6th line for 6 x merkins, then calf raises

Team 1 to pavilion for 10 x leg raises (on right side), 10 x dips, 10 x derkins, 10 x leg raises (on left side)

Round 4

Team 1 to 7th line for 7 x merkins, then flutterkicks

Team 2 to pavilion for a bear crawl, full lap around the pavilion

Team 2 to 8th line for 8 x merkins, then flutterkicks

Team 1 to pavilion for a bear crawl, full lap around the pavilion

For Rounds 5 through 8 we reversed the parking space ladder, working down from 8 merkins to 1.

Round 5

Team 1 to 8th line for 8 x merkins, then LBCs

Team 2 to pavilion for a crawl bear, full lap around the pavilion

Team 2 to 7th line for 7 x merkins, then LBCs

Team 1 to pavilion for a crawl bear, full lap around the pavilion

Somewhere during these rounds, as the QiC and Team 1 returned from the pavilion, Team 2 (aka the “troublemakers”) was in the middle of shenanigans, swapping Sunspot and GBU’s truck as a prank on Sunspot. Everyone had a good laugh until the QiC corralled the hooligans and implemented 10 penalty burpees before resuming the beatdown.

Round 6

Team 1 to 6th line for 6 x merkins, then WW2s

Team 2 to pavilion for 10 x monkey humpers, 10 x derkins, 10 x dips, 10 x side SSHs

Team 2 to 5th line for 5 x merkins, then WW2s

Team 1 to pavilion for 10 x monkey humpers, 10 x derkins, 10 x dips, 10 x side SSHs

Round 7

Team 1 to 4th line for 4 x merkins, then calf raises

Team 2 to pavilion for 20 x step ups and 20 x derkins

Team 2 to 3rd line for 3 x merkins, then calf raises

Team 1 to pavilion for 20 x step ups and 20 x derkins

Round 8

Team 1 to 2nd line for 2 x merkins, then flutterkicks

Team 2 to pavilion for 40 x dips

Team 2, 3 more penalty burpees in the presence of their prank victim, Sunspot, who had finished his run and discovered their handiwork, then to 1st line for 1 x merkins, then flutterkicks

Team 1 to pavilion for 40 x dips

After Round 8 all PAX ran to line 10 for 10 x merkins then circled up at the flag

Mary

A variety of stretches with a count off up to 20 for each stretch were done to round out the hour.

Shenanigans commenced at some point during the counting so the QiC implemented 10 more penalty burpees to address certain counting “irregularities”.

COT

We briefly touched on the concept of taking time to listen to “the other team” and the need for us as men to lead with civil dialogue and stand in the gap in what is often a heated environment around public discourse, which inspired certain aspects of the beatdown.

Oneshot and family

Tough relationship changes and situations

We ended with Coffeeteria and some robust QSD but not before one more instance of shenanigans. It seemed only one or two PAX wanted to be in the proof of life photo, so the QiC started the countdown out loud. Remaining PAX hustled into position in time for the picture! 😆
