Warm Up:
-Low Plank:
-5 Core Principals
-F3 Mission Statement: to plant, grow and serve small workout groups for men for the invigoration of male community leadership.
-Side Car lead us with Sun Up to Sun Down (x5 IC) one way, (x5 IC) other way
-Romans 5:8: But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
-Dying Cockroach (x8 IC)…without him, that’s all we are
-Cockroach Resurrection (x8 IC)…with him, we can be resurrected
-Luke 5:8: When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at Jesus’ knees and said, “Go away from me, Lord; I am a sinful man!”
-We’re Not Worthy Praises (x10 IC)
The Thang:
-Grab block and line up in field…
-2 Samuel 5:8: On the day of the attack, David said to his troops, “I hate those ‘lame’ and ‘blind’ Jebusites. Whoever attacks them should strike by going into the city through the water tunnel.”
-Tunnel of Love
-Exodus 5:8: But require them to make the same number of bricks as before; don’t reduce the quota. They are lazy; that is why they are crying out, ‘Let us go and sacrifice to our God.’
-Walk Like an Egyptian…and because we’re not lazy, we did it with the block! (Line up, lunge w/ left leg, hold, until rear PAX runs to front., then right lunge, hold, etc….
During this we had some close lightening, then it started pouring rain!
Head to Pavilion…
-Line up at end of Pavilion
-Micah 5:8: The remnant of Jacob will be among the nations, in the midst of many peoples, like a lion among the beasts of the forest, like a young lion among flocks of sheep, which mauls and mangles as it goes, and no one can rescue.
– John 5:8: Then Jesus said to him, “Get up! Pick up your mat and walk.”
-The Lion King (x5 IC) (Start with a coupon tight to your chest. 1: Move into the low squat position. 2: lower the coupon between your knees. 3: Coming up out of the squat raise the coupon high above your head thrusting it upward)
-Rifle Carry walk to other end of pavilion
Repeat Lion King & Rifle Carry walk (x4)
(Jesus told that man to pick up his mat, but he told us to pick up our blocks, and we had to repeat, because sometimes we're stubborn, and have to be told several times)
-1 Peter 5:8: Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.
-Prowling Lion from one end of pavilion to the other end
(I did this exercise before but didn’t have a name for it, so I’ve officially named it The Prowling Lion this time. Explanation: Bear Crawl, with block between your feet…drag block with your feet. Metaphor: If you don’t surrender your life to something greater, you drag the weight of selfishness, sin, and guilt, like a lion dragging the weight of it's dead victim.)
-Warrior Ethos: Chapter 13 (5+8=13): The Opposite of Fear is Love
“Fight for this alone: the man who stands at your shoulder. He is everything, and everything is contained within him.” Courage is inseparable from love and leads to what may arguably be the most noblest of all warrior virtues: selflessness.
Ephesians 6:12: For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
In the difficult days ahead, it will be impossible to stem the tide of evil in the world without:
1. Physical/Mental Fitness & Toughness (1st F)
2. Tight Knit Community/Teams (2nd F)
3. Belief in & Surrender to something greater than self (3rd F)
-The F3 Credo is: Leave no man behind, but leave no man where you find him.
Next exercise is for
1.) physical & mental toughness. When you’re feeling like you can’t go anymore, look to your left & right, and fight for that brother next to you
2.) cheer each other on, build each other up, give high fives/fist bumps
3.) You’re here because you’ve put down excuses, fought off laziness, to find the courage to love, be loved, and surrender yourself to something outside of yourself.
-(x15 SC) Block Curls
-(x10 SC) WWII
-(x5 SC) Squats…
Run up hill to stop sign and back….
Repeat Curls, WWII, Squats and run 8 times
When finished…pick up the six
Mosey w/ block back to flag…
Mary
No time for a Mary….Ran a little overtime, and Double Down had to leave before we took the picture. Sorry about that Double Down!
You guys crushed it this morning. We got soaked and had an “electrifying” WO with the lightning and thunder! Those WWII’s on the wet pavement in the rain were…well, let’s just say they were refreshing! Please apologize to your M for me for making them worry about you, out there in the thunderstorm!
COT
First, I had to just give all of you guys thanks, and honor for coming out, making me a better man, and for lifting each other up!
Prayers for Popo’s brother who was just diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. Prayers for Eagle’s son, Granola as he will be making his commitment to the Marine Corps soon, and also his nephew who has special forces training coming up. Also, Eagle’s M, and her healing.
Prayers for Trojan, and prayers for all of us as men, as we strive to lead our families, shoulder our own burdens, but also the burdens of our family. This is the whole point of the 3rd F and the COT…we look outside ourselves for help, and look to those guys in the gloom next to us to lean on, and help us through this life. We’re not meant to carry these burdens alone.
Praises for Hamloaf’s dad’s successful surgery.
Prayers for Speed Check, and for the family that lost their 3 year old.
Prayers for my M, her healing, and for her upcoming MRI.
Really appreciate, love, and honor you guys! You’re all HIM! Thanks for making me better.
Thanks for following my lead through the thunder, the lightening, the rain, and the gloom!
