June 6th 1944 as part of Operation Overlord 130,000 allied troops from many countries stormed the beaches known as Omaha, Utah, Juno, Gold, and Sword. The day would become known as D-Day and the efforts and sacrifices resulted in the creation of a second front in Europe and eventual victory roughly 1 year later. Today we remember and honor the 80th anniversary.
