The Thang
We started with a mosey around the playground to give time for inspiration and ended over at the soccer fields. The QiC recalled a Q led by Patches where we did bear crawls to the corners of the soccer field but always facing the same direction. But I had something different in mind. We did 3 exercises at each stop before changing direction and continuing on our unique route.

We started facing the soccer field at the far left corner.

Bear crawl halfway
Monkey Humpers x 10
WW2s x 10ic
Merkins x 10

Sideways bear crawl to the RIGHT about 2/3 of the way to midfield
Squats x 10ic

LBCs x10ic
No Surrenders x10ic

Sideways bear crawl to the LEFT back to the sideline
Lunges x10ic
Pickle pointers x10ic
Mountain climbers x10ic

Bear crawl the rest of the way to the other side

Flutterkicks x10ic
Burpees x10
WW2s x 10ic

Sideways bear crawl to the RIGHT about halfway using the bench for:
Derkins x10
Dips x10
Step Ups x10

At this point if you review the path above and consider what was traced on the field you may have an idea what was in mind.

Did a short mosey out onto the path and then back to the far RIGHT corner of the soccer field. As I would discover later, this was a mental error regarding the next sequence of movement on the field.

From the far right corner, sideways bear crawl LEFT almost halfway across the field
Monkey Humpers x10

Mountain Climbers x10ic

No Cheat Merkins x10

Crawl bear towards midfield

Hold Al Gore (20 count)
High plank (20 count)
Low plank (20 count)

Sideways bear crawl RIGHT

Squats x10

Lunges x10ic

No Surrenders x10ic

Sideways bear crawl LEFT back to midfield

Flutterkicks x10ic

Pickle pointers x10 (left leg up); pickle pointers x10 (right leg up); pickle pointers x10 (regular)

LBCs x10ic

Crawl bear to the near side of the field
American Hammers x10ic
Boat / Canoe
Freddie Mercuries x10ic

Sideways bear crawl RIGHT to the right corner on the near side of the field
The Motivator

If you trace that out in your mind you may have realized the mental error but the QiC just wanted a redo do to poor quality (primarily due to the QiCs inability to do crawl bears in a straight line).

We mosied towards the basketball courts to about the halfway point in the overall soccer field area. We started facing the basketball courts (so all directions are relative to facing that direction) and while doing a forward mosey did the following maneuvers:
Mosey forward about halfway to the basketball courts
Turn right, mosey in that direction, turn around mosey left back
Continue towards basketball courts, turn right mosey in that direction
Break off out to the path and curve around to the far right corner (this was a repeat of the same mental error during the main beatdown)
Mosey left about halfway, mosey reverse about halfway, mosey right to edge of field and back, continue mosey reverse to about the center of the whole soccer field area, mosey right to finish

In the middle of this Big Blue asks “Are you trying to draw a 3 or an E?”. I realized I was drawing an “E” and had done the same on the other field. Sigh…finished out the “E”.

Not to be deterred and given there was still time on the clock, we mosied to the parking lot and moseyed out an “F” followed by a “3” to round out the hour.

Now you know the reason for the name of this backblast!

COT
Turnpike – daughter’s recent deviated septum surgery went well, recovering at home; M has upcoming knee surgery; also for Turnpike (tweaked knee slightly during today’s beatdown)
Door Dash – for strength to lean into discomfort in general in physical, mental, emotional, relational and spiritual growth.
We enjoyed Coffeeteria and QSD at Starbucks following COT.
