Rak Chazak (Amats) was an ancient Hebrew war cry. It means “strong and courageous.” It is being strong, brave, firm, courageous, tenacious, and zealous for the Kingdom of God. We can face the enemy without falling back or running in fear. Whatever struggle or trial faces us, we do not fear because we are not alone! God wants us to trust Him in every situation. Rak Chazak! Knowing that God goes before us, we can charge forward with a boldness that can only come from the Holy Spirit. It is confidence in victory. Rak Chazak!
There is no doubt there is a war around us. It is not a war of flesh, blood, and material weapons; but spiritual. The war has already been won by Christ, but the battle for your heart rages on. The battle for your family’s hearts’ rages on. The battle for your brothers’ hearts rages on. Satan knows that our families and communities are vulnerable when we are out of the fight. Satan wants us men to be isolated, distracted, depressed, complacent, apathetic. God has called us to get in the fight! Remember that God goes before us, so fight on!

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”
Then Moses summoned Joshua and said to him in the presence of all Israel, “Be strong and courageous, for you must go with this people into the land that the Lord swore to their ancestors to give them, and you must divide it among them as their inheritance.
The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”
Deuteronomy 31:6-8
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”
Joshua 1:9

Personal challenge #2: Think of a Pax you haven’t seen in awhile. Reach out to him this week. Check in on him. Let him know you miss seeing him. Offer help if he needs it. Pray for him. Love him!
