Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the plans that I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

I recently learned more about the context of this verse. The Jewish people were about to be exiled to Babylon and obviously didn't want to. Speaking through the prophet Jeremiah, the Lord encouraged the people with these words and included a promise of hope and future deliverance back to their home in Jerusalem. But, they would have to endure some discipline and trials first. God delivered on this promise and did some incredible things while the Jewish people were in Babylon. I believe the same promises hold true for us. There are places and situations that the Lord places us in (trials, tribulations, ministry/life among people who are hostile to you, maybe even some fatherly discipline, etc). We've all felt the trials and some of us are in them right now. Take heart, the Lord's promises are faithful and true. He will deliver, give us hope, and prosper us. And. . . always remember, we have a brotherhood together in which we can share each other's burdens. We are all here for each other. This is much, much more than a workout.
