Daniel 3:16-18

16 Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego replied to him, “King Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter.

17 If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver usfrom Your Majesty’s hand.

18 But even if he does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.”

(Integrity, courage, trust in God)

. . . .

24 Then King Nebuchadnezzar leaped to his feet in amazement and asked his advisers, “Weren’t there three men that we tied up and threw into the fire?”

They replied, “Certainly, Your Majesty.”

25 He said, “Look! I see four men walking around in the fire, unbound and unharmed, and the fourth looks like a son of the gods.”

(God is with us, protecting us, refining us)

. . . . .

We need to be willing to to go through the fires and trials because God often calls us there. He calls us there because that’s often where we find Him. I’m learning to be patient in these furnaces and not search for the quickest way out. To allow the fires to burn some is to be refined. Most importantly, I’m learning to worship God in the tough times in a spirit gratitude for who He is. These tough beatdowns help me remember all of this because no one is forcing us there (well, maybe our weasel shaker Caterpillar is…but ….). We all show up because we want to embrace the suck together. And this morning I think we did. And, I’d like to think we’ee all a little better than we were yesterday because of it.

Thanks for listening to what is on my heart this morning.

Have a great day men and thank you all!
