
10 PAX came out for a round of Yahtzee with lawn dice but the hard way.
Two teams of five took turns rolling 5 dice with the goal of scoring per traditional Yahtzee rules. You get three attempts to roll and can choose to reroll all or some of the dice in attempts to fill in the following scoring categories:
1s through 6s – add up all 1s, 2s, 3s, 4s, 5s or 6s
3 of a kind or 4 of a kind – total of all dice when you have 3 or 4 of the same number
Full house – 25 points for 2 dice of one number and 3 of another number
Small straight – 30 points for 4 dice in sequence
Large straight – 40 points for 5 dice in sequence
Yahtzee – 50 points for all five dice of the same number
Chance – add up all dice
The format was as follows on each turn. For the first roll add up all dice and do that many of the first exercise for that roll. Set aside dice to keep then add just the dice used in the second roll and do that many of the second exercise. Set aside dice to keep then add just the dice used in the third roll and do that many of the third exercise. Often for the second or 3rd roll exercises were done in cadence. After doing the exercises for all three rolls, score dice and potentially do a bonus exercise for specific score categories.
Bonus exercises:
3 or 4 of a kind – would have been total of all dice and then repeating the last exercise but no team scored this option
Full House – 25 dips – each team got this early so we added this twice
Small Straight – 30 American Hammers – both teams got this so added twice
Large Straight – 40 (10 derkins + 10 step ups + 10 dips + 10 burpees) – did this once
Yahtzee – 50 (25 merkins + 25 WW2s) – did this once
Chance – add up all dice then roll one die to select the first exercise from rounds 3 through 8 – we did this once, ending up with Dips
We started the game with the warmup with Team 1 doing Round 1, then Team 2 taking their turn with Round 2 and continuing to alternate through Round 14.
Round 1 – Michael Phelps, Wonder Bra. 3rd exercise would have been Tennessee Rocking Chair but Team 1 scored a full house after roll 2.
Round 2 – Grass pickers, Windmills, Squats (low and slow)
Round 3 and 9 – merkins, LBCs, monkey humpers
Round 4 and 10 – flutterkicks, no surrenders, burpees
Round 5 and 11 – side straddle hops, dips, WW2S
Round 6 and 12 – WW2s, dips, side straddle hops
Round 7 and 13 – burpees, no surrenders, flutterkicks
Round 8 and 14 – monkey humpers, LBCs, merkins

Respond to Blessings of Hope survey – we may either substitute this for a Saturday workout or do a modified schedule for Saturday workouts (i.e. earlier workout). Keep this in mind when filling out the survey. After the survey we will need at least 10 PAX (+Ms, 2.0s, others) to hard commit to a group service project.
