The Thang
Carry blocks over to the pavilion and line up coupons along the edge of the grass. The flag was planted about 10 yds out with cones set up about 25 yds out.
For the “Lone Wolf” phase each PAX had to get all coupons out to the flag while the rest of the PAX did standby excercises in the pavilion. After getting all blocks to the flag all PAX reset the blocks and the next PAX became the Lone Wolf.
Mode of transportation cycled through the following, with a mosey back from the flag, until each Lone Wolf moved all the blocks (7 coupons plus one backpack since we were short one…).
Bear crawl drag
Murder bunny
Farmer carry
Rifle carry
Lunge walk carry
For standby PAX cycled through a mix of the following in the pavilion:
WW2s, merkins, dips, flutterkicks, pickle pointers, LBCs, monkey humpers, derkins, irkins, step ups
With about 15 minutes remaining, all 8 PAX had completed the Lone Wolf phase and we began parceling out the pain with all PAX working through some modified versions of the MOTs together but out to the 25 yd cones and back:
Bear crawl drag, out and back
Murder bunny, out and back
Farmer carry, one PAX carrying two blocks, a 2nd PAX lunge walking out. For the return trip Bunyan suggested the following: PAX lock arms in each coupon, then lunge walk back in unison.
Once back we split into small groups and carried each PAX out and back (3 PAX grabbing hands and feet of the the 4th PAX).
Final exercise was just under 2 minutes of block curls to round up to 45 minutes.
COT
We briefly talked about the Q-source concepts that inspired the workout and laid out a goal to be intentional about implementing the shield lock in a practical way.
Bunyan – recent health challenges for his M and the extra mental load she is carrying dealing with that. Courage and patience for men to provide that safe space for hard emotions to be felt and expressed while being genuinely supportive.
