The Thang

Moseyed over to the path around the soccer fields and began our journey around the path, mostly using the grass to avoid colliding with those enjoying the beautiful morning.

 

1st round – lunge walk, every 10 steps do 10 merkins – repeat until 50 merkins were complete

2nd round – bear crawl, every 20 bear steps do 10 LBCs – repeat until 50 LBCs

3rd round – broad jump, every 10 jumps do 10 WW2s – repeat until 50 WW2s

4th round – crawl bear, every 20 bear steps do 10 flutterkicks – repeat until 50 flutterkicks

 

For each round picked up the six until all pax finished. At this point we were about halfway around the walking path.

 

Moseyed over to the pavilion for 50 dips. During dips there were a few Amish teens hanging out waiting to play baseball. A couple of PAX encouraged them to join in and before we finished the dips all three were doing dips with us!

 

After a round of fist bumps for our impromptu guests, the QiC initiated 12 derkins.

 

We then moseyed to the playground for some pullups. I did the sitting/inclined version on the low bars, calling A RAP or until the QiCs arms gave out…

 

Moseyed back to the path for a few additional rounds.

 

5th round – Lunge walk. Every 10 steps do 10 merkins, repeat for 30 merkins. I think it was after this set that Sunspot confessed he didn’t know what the next exercise was because “I wasn’t listening”…do 5 penalty burpees as a group.

 

6th round – Bear crawl. After 20 bear steps do 15 pickle pointers, 3 sets for 45 total. “Perfect” timing by the QiC as two older ladies got a show they were not expecting…friendly but awkward comments were exchanged.

 

7th round – Crawl bear. After 20 bear steps do 10 side leg lifts on each side, 3 sets for 60 total. At this point an older couple happened by. He was quiet but she said “You’re doing great. Now pickup the pace!”.

 

For the final 5 minutes the QiC deferred to Sunspot to lead us in some much needing stretching to round out the hour.
